Giant Journeys delivers immersive educational workshops for primary-age children using virtual reality, augmented reality, hands-on activities and interactive AI characters. We already have experience delivering Giant Journeys in the heart of Lincoln. At the Barbican Creative Hub in Lincoln city centre, we ran a full programme of VR sessions for children and parents, with groups experiencing different journeys throughout the day including Space, Wild Animals and Under the Sea.
It was a great example of how our workshops can work outside the traditional classroom as well as within schools, bringing children and families together through immersive learning.

The city was the birthplace of mathematician George Boole, whose pioneering work on logic became fundamental to the development of modern computing. More than a century later, technology continues to change the way children explore and understand the world – something we embrace through our VR and interactive AI workshops.
Lincoln also played an important role in technological innovation during the First World War. The first tanks were developed in the city at William Foster & Co., creating another fascinating local connection for schools studying Britain, invention, engineering or the First World War.

Lincoln’s own connection with the development of the tank makes the First World War particularly relevant for local schools.
During Tommy’s Journey, pupils meet our interactive First World War character and investigate his story.
