Giant Journeys

CSI Journey

It was the perfect crime.

Sneaking into the high-security Diamond Centre to steal gems estimated to be worth in the region of £32 million.

At 7pm, the doors to the vault were closed. By the next morning, the world-famous Venus Diamond had gone.

Can your students help?

Working with one class at a time, children will initially learn about DNA, fingerprints, footprints and fibres before entering their very own crime scene, set up in a hall or large classroom.

Overview

From here, pupils will begin by taping off the area and carefully assessing the scene.

They will identify and collect evidence, determine what has taken place, and work together to decide which of the eight suspects is guilty of the theft.

Throughout the session, children are encouraged to think like real forensic investigators.

They will observe closely, ask questions, discuss their findings, and consider how each piece of evidence fits into the wider picture.

These interactive sessions give children a genuine hands-on experience and clearly demonstrate how science can be used in real-world scenarios.

By engaging directly with the investigation, pupils gain a deeper understanding of forensic science and its practical applications beyond the classroom.

Every CSI Journey can be tailored for students of all ages and those with additional needs.

Activities can be adapted to suit different year groups, learning styles, and abilities, ensuring every child can take part and feel involved.

Please call us to discuss your specific requirements further.

A great way to host a STEM day for pupils.

Why Schools Love CSI Journey

Our KS2 children were so excited at trying to discover who had stolen the missing gem! They were full of it when parents asked them about the day and learnt some great skills along the way- fingerprints, detective skills, collating data and having fun! Thank you Darren for a great day.

What a fantastic time we had in the forensic science workshop! Darren had the kids attention from the start and they were absolutely buzzing with excitement. My Year 1 class requested I give 10 stars, but sadly that’s not an option! They came back into class looking for more clues and talked about finger prints all day long! Thank you for an amazing session!
