We specialise in working with primary schools across the UK and Ireland, from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, and we’re always happy to support SEN settings too.
Giant Journeys opens the door to every corner of the curriculum, from ancient civilizations and human biology to cutting-edge tech and outer space. Whatever your topic, we bring it to life through hands-on experiences, immersive storytelling, and unforgettable moments your pupils will love. Currently, the topics we cover are:
Space, Around the Body, Oceans, Dinosaurs, Stone Age, Romans, Ancient Egypt, World War 1, World War 2, Crime Scene Investigation, Indian Dance, Chinese Dance, Sport.
We believe our Journeys are different.
We can bring a life-size, animatronic T-Rex dinosaur to you for an unforgettable school assembly.
We can bring VR headsets and take your children into Space, Around the Body, under the Ocean or live a day as a Minibeast.
We can bring huge fossils and Augmented Reality tech for our dinosaur workshops.
We can set the school hall up as a “crime scene” and get the children to use iPads to check for DNA and solve the mystery of the stolen Venus Diamond.
We can deliver our AI workshops where children can talk to a World War 1 soldier, a Roman Gladiator, an Ancient Egyptian or a Stone Age child.
It’s not about sitting and watching. It’s about doing.
Oh, and we leave biscuits after we leave.
Typically sessions last around 45 minutes and are tailored to your timetable and class size. We can deliver multiple sessions in one day across different class groups. We offer both full or half day workshops.
Here’s an example of a typical full day workshop with 6 sessions. These can be altered to suit your school day and to fit around lunchtimes etc.
9.00am – 9.45am
9.45am – 10.30am
10.45am – 11.30am
1.00pm – 1.45pm
1.45pm – 2.30pm
2.30pm – 3.15pm
Our workshops are designed for primary aged children (roughly ages 4 to 11). We can adapt content for different year groups, needs and ability levels.
We supply all the specialist equipment (VR headsets, AR tablets, hands-on materials) and our facilitators will sort all the set-up and pack-down.
If possible we do prefer to work in a school hall, but depending on the type of workshop, we might be able to deliver the sessions in other areas, like a classroom or library.
For some of the workshops we might need a table or two and for the AI workshops we will need to connect to the school wi-fi.
Yes — our sessions are tailored to meet a range of needs. We aim for every child to participate and be engaged. We work with the school to ensure accessibility and adapt as required.
We usually deliver one class at a time, but we can schedule multiple classes in a day. The exact number depends on your timetable, group size and the topic chosen.
We try to make our fees as transparent as possible, which is why we have a pricing page. Sometimes however, we will have to provide a tailored quote. We’ll factor in your school size, location, topic choice and timetable. Once you’ve chosen your “journey” theme and date, we’ll confirm everything in writing.
Keep your eye out on our social media though as we often run discounts and offers.
Minimal. We handle the set-up, pack-down, equipment and facilitation. We do need a table or two for some of the workshops and we will need power and wi-fi for the AI journeys.
For the dinosaur assembly, we do love to bite one of the staff – please choose wisely!
Yes — all our workshops are designed to reinforce curriculum objectives (Science, History, Geography, etc) while also providing an exciting experience.
We ensure safe delivery, including facilitator-led sessions, and maintain equipment hygiene. (If needed we can provide guidance on risk assessments and parental consent).
Yes — we work nationwide (UK & Ireland) though availability may vary by region and term-time demands. Get in touch, we will try to be as accomodating as possible.
