Giant Journeys

Roman Workshop – Marcus’s Journey

Travel back to the height of the Roman Empire and meet Marcus, a Roman centurion stationed at the Colosseum.

In this unique and immersive Roman workshop for primary schools, pupils enter the world of Ancient Rome and explore one of its most famous buildings. Through digital investigation, team challenges and live interaction with our AI Roman character, children discover how soldiers, gladiators, emperors and ordinary citizens lived.

But there is a serious problem inside the Colosseum.

The Emperor’s valuable ring has disappeared, and Marcus needs the children’s help to find it before the Emperor arrives.

Pupils must investigate the arena, examine Roman objects, question Marcus and uncover the evidence needed to solve the mystery.

And the most exciting part?

Your pupils can speak directly with Marcus and ask their own questions about Roman soldiers, gladiators, the Colosseum and life in the Roman Empire.

It is Roman history brought to life in a way children will never forget.

Overview

During the session, pupils can speak with Marcus through our live AI-powered character experience.

They can ask questions such as:

  • Why did you join the Roman army?
  • What armour does a Roman soldier wear?
  • What happened inside the Colosseum?
  • Were all gladiators slaves?
  • What weapons did gladiators use?
  • What did Romans eat?

Marcus answers in real time, turning the workshop into a living history experience in which the children’s own questions help shape their learning.

Some answers will also reveal important clues about the Emperor’s missing ring.
