The Dinosaur Visit Assembly is a 45 minute interactive dinosaur show delivered in your hall by Giant Journeys across the UK and Ireland. The whole school from Reception to Year 6 meets Reggie, a 5 metre animatronic T-Rex, and his baby sister Trixie. Pupils also see a collection of prehistoric exhibits, with no limit on numbers as long as the space allows.
Most schools pair the show with a Jurassic Dig Journey. Reggie opens the day for the whole school in the morning, then smaller groups dig for fossils in 45 minute sessions for the rest of the day.
Now this really is spectacular!
Dinosaurs are awe-inspiring creatures, captivating children and adults alike.

Pupils will learn about how dinosaurs behaved, how they evolved, and what scientists believe led to their eventual extinction.
Learning is brought to life through interaction, movement and storytelling.
Reggie does far more than simply stand still.
He blinks, walks, moves his head, swishes his tail, and of course delivers a mighty T-Rex roar that never fails to capture attention.
Children are encouraged to observe closely, ask questions, and take part throughout the assembly, keeping engagement high from start to finish.
Reggie is also happy to interact with smaller groups, getting up close and personal to create a truly memorable learning experience.
It’s an unforgettable moment for pupils and a fantastic photo opportunity for schools.

Schools very often book Jurassic Dig Journey sessions to follow the Reggie show. A typical day starts with the dinosaur show in the morning, followed by smaller group fossil dig sessions, so pupils explore the prehistoric world in more detail through hands-on activities.
Reggie’s visit is an enrichment experience for the whole school, from Reception to Year 6, rather than a curriculum led workshop. Where it touches the national curriculum for England, it supports these areas.
Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2): identifying and naming animals and asking simple questions about them. Observing closely and using observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions.
Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4): describing in simple terms how fossils are formed when things that have lived are trapped within rock.
Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6): recognising that living things have changed over time, and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.
The Dinosaur Visit Assembly is priced separately from our standard workshops because of the extra equipment and staffing involved. We send a tailored quote based on your school, location and timetable.
The assembly runs 45 minutes. It works as an exciting start to the day or a memorable finale, and schools very often book Jurassic Dig Journey sessions to follow it.
