Discover the Rhythm of Culture

In this enriching and interactive workshop, pupils will learn the graceful art of Kathak, one of India’s oldest classical dance forms, known for its intricate footwork, storytelling and expressive movements.

Overview

Pupils will be introduced to Kathak, a traditional Indian dance style that uses movement, rhythm and expression to tell stories.

Through guided steps and flowing sequences, children will begin to understand how dance can communicate ideas, emotions and cultural traditions.

They will also learn Mudras, the symbolic hand gestures that are central to Indian dance and spirituality, discovering how simple movements of the hands can hold deep meaning.

This hands-on approach immerses children in the beauty of Indian culture, while naturally developing coordination, rhythm, balance and confidence.

The workshop goes beyond dance, offering pupils a window into India’s rich traditions, history and diverse religious practices.

As they move, listen and learn, children are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and reflect on similarities and differences between cultures.

Our sessions are led by a professional dancer, who creates a supportive and engaging environment where all pupils feel comfortable taking part, regardless of experience.

By fully immersing children in this interactive journey, we help them appreciate and celebrate global cultural diversity in a way that feels joyful, meaningful and memorable.
