Our World VR Journey is a virtual reality geography workshop for primary schools, delivered in your hall by Giant Journeys across the UK and Ireland. Pupils explore seven world landscapes and landmarks in 45 minute sessions, up to six a day, up to 30 children per session, with all VR equipment provided.
Take your pupils on an unforgettable adventure around the world, all without leaving the school hall. From the frozen landscapes of Antarctica to tropical rainforests and the African savannah, the Our World VR Workshop brings geography to life through exploration and discovery.
Children will experience the extraordinary variety of our planet, visiting spectacular natural environments and some of the world’s most recognisable landmarks. It’s an exciting way to spark curiosity about different places and help pupils make connections between the world on a map and the landscapes they discover.
Journey to the icy wilderness of Antarctica and discover a landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth. Surrounded by snow and ice, pupils can consider what makes polar environments so different from the places they know, and what challenges living in such extreme conditions might bring.
Swap frozen scenery for the lush greenery of a tropical rainforest. Discover a world of towering trees and dense vegetation as pupils explore how warm, wet conditions shape these remarkable habitats. It’s a memorable starting point for discussing biodiversity and why rainforests matter.
Experience the wide-open landscapes of the African savannah and compare its grasslands and scattered trees with the rainforest and polar regions. Children are encouraged to notice differences in vegetation, think about seasonal changes and consider how animals depend on their surroundings.
See the Great Wall winding across the hills and discover the remarkable scale of this famous landmark. This stop brings human geography into the journey, encouraging pupils to think about why people build significant structures and how they change the landscape.
Travel to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and discover an extraordinary underwater environment. Pupils can compare this marine habitat with the landscapes they have already visited and consider why protecting the natural world matters, both above and below the water.
Continue the adventure with two spectacular sights. The Pyramids of Giza introduce children to the achievements of an ancient civilisation, while the Grand Canyon reveals the dramatic landscapes that nature can create over time. Together, these landmarks offer an exciting opportunity to compare human-made structures with natural wonders.

Travel between polar landscapes, rainforests, savannahs and coral reefs, noticing what makes each place distinctive.

Visit remarkable places around the globe and explore the differences between natural features and human-made landmarks.

Observe, compare and describe landscapes, building vocabulary and asking questions about climate, habitats and the wider world.

Consider why different environments are important and how we can help care for the places, plants and animals that make our planet special.
Our World VR supports the geography programme of study in the national curriculum for England.
